Hard as it may have been to bid adieu to Art Hearts Fashion week, here's a recap on its' noteworthy finale extravaganza to soothe your fashion savvy soul.
Aussie Gear, a line born in Australia that prevails in Los Angeles presented wears ranging from swimwear to sweatpants, hoodies and leather pieces. Perfect for lounging, working out or swimming, former professional athlete Perry Meek's sporty foundation translates with ease. Stand out accents include asymmetrical zippers, drop crotches, onsies, religious idolatry and silver eye makeup for dramatic effect.
Levitation Activewear, a men's luxury activewear line designed to inspire a dynamic lifestyle, represented a niche West Coast style. Centrally focused around tank tops, shorts and undergarments, Levitation used brand recognition a la Calvin Klein around the waistband. Eye catching highlighter yellow was a popular color throughout, juxtaposed with black and white.
Luxury Parisian label Shalemar exhibited wearable art that's both chic and trendsetting. Inspired by the world renowned artwork of Shalemar Sharbatly, the line hosted an array of t-shirts, leggings and jeans that are one-of-a-kind. Abstract art on ripped fitted jeans, one or both legs painted on jeans, basic tees with silver and gold embellishment were all brilliant when shown on the runway.
Modern contemporary clothing designer Courtney Allegra's edgy swimwear collection incorporated sassy looks punctuated with vibrant colors, bold patterns with touches of femininity. Models' hair was beachy, wavy and tossed to the side accessorized with a gorgeous flower finishing each look to perfection. And apparently, underboob is the new clevage! Youthful, cheeky and sexy - what's not to adore?
The Amren Tulano brand is a joint venture between two women with a cohesive goal in mind - to create 'thought provoking style with heart'. 'Love Whispers' SS2016 is a 'nostalgic journey into the playroom of modern romance to re-live the ethereal fantasy of femininity, innocence and love,' Beautiful knits accentuated with embellished headdresses, floral anklets and sky high nude wedges - the fashion line with purpose debuted a collection ranging from comfy loungewear to evening appropriate looks.
Without a moment's notice after showing at New York Fashion Week, the man of the hour, industry mogul and triple threat in the industry Erik Rosete showcased his Mister Triple X 'One Rose' collection in Hollywood. Rosete's line encapsulates edgy high end street wear, sexy rocker chic looks and couture bunny ears - my personal favorite touch. The 'One Rose' collection featured looks with embellished prints as well as with his trademark X on dresses, board shorts, 70's inspired short-short jumpsuits, peplum tops and three tiered skirts. 'One Rose' was a sophisticated expression of Rosete's high fashion meets street style aesthetic. Harnesses, belts and chains were used in the most unique way, all designed by Kenny Kenny Gear, jewelry by Ammanni, shoes by Emmett Shoes and those amazing provocative spiked heels were a Hades Footwear creation. Female models' makeup circulated around natural beauty with a red lip for a pop of color by The Organic Face, hair swept up and beautifully coiffed by FHI Heat and styled by Prive Salons.
Michael Ngo presented his 'Soverigns of the Sea' Spring Summer 2016 collection to an audience raving with applause at the finish. It was inspiring, captivating and entertaining all in one beautiful sweeping dream. Ngo initially was a self taught designer until his idol, Lady Gaga inspired him to go back to school to truly learn the art of fashion design and the rest is history! On the runway there was lots of sequins, shorts, sweat suits with mesh, and gladiator boots! This is only the beginning of his incredible career and I can't wait to see what's in his future. "The future is now. Conquer and be free. be your own King and Queen. We are sovereigns of the sea" states Ngo about his collection, and apparently a motto to go by in life as well!
Amato Haute Couture, 'Love is a Battlefield' was the finale of Art Hearts Fashion and it was absolutely spectacular. It was truly a designer showcase intertwined with a full on entertaining experience that encompassed virtually all the senses. Amato caters exclusively to an elite Arab clientele as well as international celebrities. There was a short film prior to the shows beginning that certainly strengthened the appreciation of Furne One's design aesthetic and artistry. When asked about the keys to is success, Furne shares it's about diligence. "Hard work and diligence. There are so many talented designers everywhere so I think you need a little luck. Being in the right place at the right time. I was lucky." Celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, Tyra Banks and Nicole Sherzinger have been lucky enough to be dressed in his amazing couture gowns.
Art Hearts Fashion was produced by Erik Rosete and ParkerWhitaker Productions.
