Lavish Belle Events is a quick to rise Bay Area based Event Planning and Promotions Company headed by Terra Gordon and DaVina Smith. Promotions and event planning has always been a passion of CEO and Owner of LBE Terra Gordon’s. The birth of Lavish Belle derived from Terra’s past seven years of experience promoting and throwing nightlife parties. “After I had my baby I decided the club wasn't a place I wanted to be every weekend. So I refocused my brand and focused on more upscale events and venues,” says Terra.
DaVina Smith similarly has solid roots in marketing and promoting, so it inevitably made sense for them to become partners and build a brand together. “Both Terra and I have been in the promotion world in the Bay Area for quite some time and recently decided we wanted to host more inspirational events. We started around January of this year and had our first seminar in March, says DaVina.
Ms. Terra Gordon developed the idea behind Lavish Events and the type of events the business would focus upon while Ms. DaVina Smith came up with the Belle part of the name. “Together we named it Lavish Belle Events”, shared Gordon. “I am most passionate about bringing my community together and recognizing each other's talents and how businesses can combine forces and become that much more dynamic. I am committed to providing platforms for small businesses to come together and support one another”, she states.
“We were both the CEO's of the company sharing similar roles and each being very involved in the event from start to finish. I have always wanted to do event planning since I watched The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez. I am someone who is very organized with a creative eye. I like the feeling it gives me when I create something that will leave people with amazing memories”, shares Smith.
A key component to Mrs. Smith-Harris’ philosophy is that she believes that knowledge is power. “Everyone should improve themselves and/or business, no matter what stage in life they're in. Whether it's to develop a better mindset or to increase profits. Moving forward is key”, says Smith-Harris.
Other speakers at the event include CEO of Marketing Kings, Tyranny Allen, Motivational Speaker and TV Personality Arie Rose, and Kel, the Owner of Kel’s Barbershop.
Greatest moments of the evening for these two blossoming CEO’s? “There were so many great moments at that event, but the most touching and the one that left the biggest impact was when the 80 year old woman received an investor, guest speaker Tyranny Allen, for her jewelry business” Gordon reminisces. The best moment of the event according to Ms. Smith was ‘when Yandy went around and answered questions in the crowd and the attendees had an opportunity to hear some really great stories and network.’
When I asked the ladies how they will apply what they learned towards future events they will be hosting, Terra stated that ‘planning this event came with many lessons. But the most important one is that if you have a vision and a dream stand up for it and pursue no matter how hard it is or how many people try to deter you from it. The key is to believe in YOU.’
In the near future, expect Lavish Belle Events to remain one of the Bay Area’s most sought after event planning companies. Currently, Lavish Belle Events is looking forward to "The Bay’s Biggest Hair Show" on November 20th, 2016.
